Yvonne Blaauw (1988) works and lives in Groningen (NL). Graduated in fine arts at Academie Minerva Groningen (2010)

In her work she explores the everyday life and the commonness everyday life, with in particular our everyday objects. Everyday actions like cleaning up your bathroom, raking leaves or moving your couch up the staircase. She finds practical or maybe not so practical solutions for problems she encounters. She made objects like a couch with the shape of a staircase at the bottom which fits like a puzzle piece in the staircase. And a rake with a broom mounted on the other side, so that the consumer could easily switch both features while using the object. Her work involves in a kind of hyperconsiousness in which she finds art everywhere, like the sliced liverwurst and cucumber on a plate or the shower gel she has just bought.
